This booklet is intended as a resource for parents and teachers for talking with children about race. Children need a safe environment to share their experiences, questions and concerns, and to discuss positive ways to respond to prejudice and to promote unity.

Designed for use with ages 8-12, the booklet is organized around four themes: Our Similarities and Differences, Skin Color, Personal Stories, and Overcoming Prejudice.

The activities, adapted from our Teaching Unity curriculum, include discussion questions, poems, songs, and four colorful PowerPoints available separately from our online bookstore.
